And of course, you know it, the sport is also a great opportunity to meet people.
Where do we start? First, why not taking the time to work your swing? Nigeria offers some of the most beautiful golf courses in West Africa. A small dive in the green setting of Ikoyi Golf Club, created in 1938 offers an 18-hole course between grass and palm trees that will bring you some greenery in this world of bitumen! For Sunday (and Saturday) golfers, Lakowe Lakes Golf & Country is just over an hour's drive from the islands to Lekki and is much larger with a lovely lake.
Not fond of white gloves? Have a look at the seaside: Lagos is a paradise for water sports! Surf first, with a boat trip to Tarkwa bay beach early in the morning, to take your weeklies out to the city by taming affordable surf even for novices. Quieter: paddle and kayak have recently appeared on the beautiful beach of Lagos beach club where the water is protected by the barrier of the new district of Eko Atlantic. If you prefer the lagoon, it is possible too, with Kayak Lagos trips from Ikoyi. For the adrenaline junkie, you will love the kite-surf, also on the semi-lagoon in Landmark, with its feel of pirates-of-the-Caribbean given by the shipwreck near the shore. Jet-skis are also available from either the seaside or the lagoon side Lagos jetski riders!
But the king of the sea is undoubtedly the Lagos yacht club, which offers its members outings in sails and regattas, a breath of fresh air to the open sea. Another possible exit on the ocean side is diving with Scuba Lagos: if the waters are often agitated, some spots will allow you to reach the big blue and guaranteed peace!
On the festive side, a mobile salsa circle offers one hour of classes in a different bar in Lagos every night of the week, followed by a wild dance party that culminates on Thursday night at Bottles restaurant. Beginners are much welcome! For those who wish more serenity, yoga has some popular spots, from the Rooftop of the Alara Lagos to the beach bar Moist beach Oniru or in the peaceful studio Yoga Sutra Lagos.
